Bangorama is a music party game for iPhone. We built the app to work entirely without collecting any personal data about you. This policy explains what that means in practice.
We collect no personal data
Bangorama does not collect, store or share personal data. You need no account and you don't log in. We use no ad networks and no cross-app or cross-site tracking; the only statistics we see are anonymous and aggregated (see below).
Data stored only on your device
So the app can remember your setup, Bangorama stores a few settings locally on your iPhone (via iOS's standard storage, UserDefaults) – such as recent player names, score goal and decade filter. This data never leaves the device, is never sent to us, and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Music playback
Bangorama plays 30-second clips and fetches the related information (artist, title, release year and album art) from Apple's public iTunes Search API. When the app fetches a clip, a normal network request is sent to Apple. We include no personal data about you in those requests. Apple's handling of such requests is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand which game modes and settings are actually used, the app sends anonymous, aggregated usage statistics via TelemetryDeck (for example, “a new game was started in film mode”). No personal data is sent: the identifier is anonymised (salt-hashed), cannot be linked to you, and is never used for tracking or ads.
Children
The app collects data from no one, including children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of the page.
